All of us seek inspiration from different people and places.   I have been fortunate to enjoy inspiration from my family and friends, from my travels and the people I have met and from my teachers and friends in the art of photography.

To start thinking about photography as an expression of your vision, rather than a pretty scene, I couldn't go past the David duChemin books.

 

 

 

I want to particularly acknowledge my teachers Jackie Ranken and Mike Langford.   If you are looking for a great step up in your photography, join them on one of their courses based out of Queenstown or on their travels around the world.   Their website shows their wonderful work and their fabulous teaching program.   Not only are they two of the most awarded photographers in Australasia, they are beautiful people and thoughtful, patient and inspirational teachers.
